New meeting record for Lionel Owona at BIG-ish Jumps & Throws Fest

The 27th BIG-ish JUMPS & THROWS FEST at Bedford on 31st MAY 2021, saw some outstanding performances including a new world record of 1.68m in the V50 womens High Jump by Julia Machin. 

WSEH club member, Lionel Owona, created a new meeting record in the U20 Mens High Jump with a magnificent jump of 2.09m, just 1 cm below his personal best which he set in May.

Lio is now ranked  2nd in the current British U20 rankings and this performance is great step towards what we hope will be selection to the U20 European Championship team as he is gets closer to the qualifying standard of 2:13.
