WSEH Athletes brave cold Easter weather to re-start racing after COVID Lockdown

On a cold and windy day with occasional sleety showers, almost 60 athletes from WSEH took the opportunity to race again after over 3 months’ of lockdown. The PB5K 1 Mile and 5K races were held in COVID-secure waves at the South of England Showground, Ardingly, near Haywards Heath on Easter Monday, 5th February 2021.

WSEH category 1 mile winners:

  • Jake Meyburgh 1st U13 Boys’ Mile, 4:49
  • Joshua Mingoia 1st U15 Boys’ Mile, 4:48

In addition Phoebe Fuller was 2nd in the U13 Girls Mile and Summer Chapman and Eloisa Symonds were 2nd and 3rd respectively in the U15 Girls Mile.

WSEH category 5K winner:

  • Luke Birdseye 1st U17 Men’s Mile

Liam Stone was 3rd in the same category. In addition, Jasmine Young was 2nd in the U17 Women’s category and Alex Barbour 3rd in the U23 women’s category.
