Sad news about Danny Hodge, much loved WSEH coach and athlete
The committee and members of the club were heartbroken to hear that Danny Hodge, the much-loved and respected WSEH coach and athlete who made such a difference to so many people, has sadly and unexpectedly passed away.
One of the top martial artists (Taekwondo) in the world who became a track runner, Danny broke the club record for the 400m hurdles and later became a double world masters medallist over both 400m hurdles and the 4 x 400m relay. Danny coached many talented young athletes to English school’s standards and beyond, with several winning medals and titles. He has helped guide young people onto great things both on and off the track and will be desperately and sadly missed by many.
His smile, his positivity, his energy and passion, will be missed too. Danny was a “one off”.
