Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club – up and coming talent – 2024 under 15s

The 2023/2025 summer season has been a great one for our senior elite athletes – see here.

With a focus on athlete development within our juniors seeing a lot of talent coming through, the future is bright for the club and we look forward to developing even more talent next season.

The start point for most young athletes is the club’s academy – see here – developing early potential and talent. In competition this season, in the Alder Valley League, academy athletes enjoyed 40 third places, 50 second places and over 30 first places and secured over 100 PBs!

We have specialist event training for young athletes with potential & talent and the club provides experienced, qualified coaches in all events – for running see here – for jumping see here – for throwing see here – and we are seeing a lot of talent coming through.

Yasmin joined from Slough Junior AC early in 2023 and after topping the rankings and winning the Bucks County Schools Championships that year as an under 13, has continued her development in her first season an under 15 this year, which has included winning twice for the club and a silver medal in the Berkshire County Championships. We look forward to seeing her progress next season as a second year under 15.

Lila joined from St Marys in summer 2023 and quickly progressed under the coaching of Lesley Pearson (for sprints) and Neil Dodson (for hurdles), during which time she has produced eight 3rd /2nd places and three wins for the club. She also competed at the South of England Championships in August, which is her first Championship appearance. On the club’s rankings she is ranked #1 for 100m, #2 for 200m and #2 for hurdles and we look forward to seeing her continue to develop her potential next season as an under 17.

Emily has been part of the successful Newlands Girls athletic team for the past 3 years and joined the academy at Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in summer 2022 as an under 13. As an under 15 last season and this season, she has progressed to focusing on 300m and 800m under the coaching of Paul Green. On the club’s rankings she is ranked #1 for 300m and #2 for 800m and she has won the bronze medal for both the 300m and the 800m at the Berkshire County Championships and the silver medal for the 300m at the Berkshire County Schools Championships. We look forward to seeing her continue to develop her potential next season as an under 17.

Daisy has been a member since 2022 and regularly competes for the club across various events. In pole vault she is ranked #13 in the U.K. and is the Middlesex County Champion. This season she has competed at the English Schools National Championships, the England Athletics under 15 National Championships, the South of England Championships and the South East Schools Inter-Counties, where she achieved a new outdoor PB of 2.60m. We look forward to seeing her continue to develop her potential next season as an under 17.

Alex joined Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in November 2022 and spotting his potential for sprints, Paul Green progressed him to Earl Herbert’s coaching. This season he has won silver in the Berkshire County Schools Championships and has produced five 3rd /2nd places and three wins when competing for the club. Ranked in the top 40 in the U.K. for 100m and in the top 30 in the U.K. for 200m, we look forward to seeing him continue to develop his potential next season as an under 17.

Elysia joined the academy at Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in October 2022. During her first summer season in 2023, as an under 15, through training and competing, she began to develop her events.

In the 2023 summer season, she competed for the club in her core events of 100m, 200m and long jump, improving her PBs in 100m, 200m, long jump and high jump. She also enjoyed long jump success in the Oxfordshire County Schools Championships, winning silver and in the Oxfordshire County Championships, winning gold. She started to explore further events by competing in the 300m, 800m and hurdles at open meetings and finished the season competing in long jump for Oxfordshire at the South of England Inter-Counties Championships.

Elysia then progressed to the coaching of Felisha Weekes for sprints, Val Stenning for high jump and Danny Sawyers for long jump, plus supported by Clare Batchelor for shot put, to develop her athletics potential further.

In the 2023/2024 winter season she competed at indoor open meetings, before making further progress during the 2024 summer season. With additional coach support from Neil Dodson for hurdles and Paul Green for 800m, she competed for the club across a full range of events, including sprints, long jump, high jump, 800m, hurdles and shot put, enjoying nine 3rd /2nd places and six wins.

She competed in the Oxfordshire County Schools Championships, winning silver in the 300m and gold in the long jump, competed in the Oxfordshire County Championships, winning silver in the 100m, silver in the 200m, gold in the 300m, gold in the hurdles and gold in the long jump, competed for the first time in the England Athletics under 15 National Championships and competed for the first time in the South of England Championships, improving her 200m PB, winning silver in the 200m, with a new PB and in the Triple Jump for the first time, coming fifth.

In addition, she competed for the first time in combined events championships, competing in the English Schools Combined Events Regional Championships, finishing 2nd and thereby qualifying for English Schools Combined Events National Championships, the South of England Combined Events Championships, finishing 3rd and the England Athletics Combined Events National Championships (Hexathlon), gaining new PBs in the hurdles, javelin, shot put and 800m helping her to finish 8th.

For the end of the season in September, Elysia has been selected by Oxfordshire to compete in the South of England under 15/under 17 Inter-Counties Championships in the 300m, Long Jump and Triple Jump and has qualified to compete for Oxfordshire in the English Schools Combined Events National Championships.

Sophie joined in the summer from Slough Junior AC. Having competed in both individual and combined events championships and in various events in club league matches before joining, we look forward to developing her clear potential with our coaches – Neil Dodson for hurdles, Danny Sawyers for high jump and long jump, Paul Green for 800m and our sprints and throws coaches. We look forward to seeing her progress next season as a second year under 15.

Alexa joined the academy at Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in September 2023 and showed potential across several events. After impressing in the 60m during the indoor season, she progressed to a specialist sprint group. On the club’s rankings she is ranked #2 for 100m and we look forward to seeing her progress next season as a second year under 15.

Ruby has been part of the successful Newlands Girls athletic team for the past 3 years and joined Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in May 2022 as an under 13. She has progressed with our throws coaches and she is ranked #10 in the U.K. for discus. In 2023 she won the Berkshire County Schools Championships, where she improved her PB to almost 28m and competed at the South of England Inter Counties and the English Schools National Championships. This year she again won the Berkshire County Schools Championships, won the Berkshire County Championships, improving her PB to almost 30m and again competed at the English Schools National Championships. Coached by Jake and Barbara Norris, she also won five times for the club and has now taken up hammer as well. Coached by Paul Dickenson, she had competed for the club on five occasions, improving her PB each time, which is now almost 23m. For the end of the season in September, Ruby has been selected by Berkshire to compete in the South of England under 15/under 17 Inter-Counties Championships. We look forward to seeing her continue to develop her potential next season as an under 17.

Megan has been part of the successful Newlands Girls athletic team for the past 3 years and joined the academy at Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in May 2023. This season she has progressed to focusing on long jump, being coached by Danny Sawyers and high jump, being coached by Val Stenning. In high jump she won the Berkshire County Schools Championships, improving her PB to 1.53m and has successfully competed for the club, finishing in the top 3 every time. We look forward to seeing her continue to develop her potential next season as an under 17.

Eliska joined from Team Kennet this year. Coached by Paul Dickenson for hammer, improving her PB to over 35m and Jake and Barbara Norris for discus, improving her PB to almost 27m, she is ranked in the U.K. top 30 for both. She has regularly competed successfully for the club in all three throws events and she has competed for the first time at the English Schools National Championships (in discus), competed at the South of England Championships in discus and hammer, is the Berkshire County Champion for hammer, won the Berkshire County Schools Championships for hammer and won silver for discus at the Berkshire County Championships. We look forward to seeing her continue to develop her potential next season as an under 17.

Lucy joined Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in July 2023. Coached by Paul Green and Neil Dodson, on the club’s rankings she is ranked #5 for 200m and #3 for 300m. Lots of potential, we look forward to seeing her continue to develop next season as an under 17.

Freya has been part of the successful Newlands Girls athletic team for the past 3 years and joined the academy at Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club in summer 2022 as an under 13, progressing as an under 15 to the coaching of Neil Dodson for hurdles, Val Stenning for high jump, Danny Sawyers for long jump and Paul Green for 800m, plus supported by Clare Batchelor for shot put and high jump, developing her athletics potential further.

In the 2023 summer season she competed at the Berkshire Schools Combined Events Championships, finishing 2nd thereby qualifying for English Schools Combined Events Regional Championships, finishing 6th thereby qualifying for English Schools Combined Events National Championships. She also competed for the club through the season across various events, finishing in the top 3 on six occasions.

In the 2023/2024 winter season she competed for the first time at the South of England Indoor Combined Events Championships, the England Athletics Indoor Combined Events Championships and the South of England Indoor Championships.

In this year’s summer season, she again competed in the Berkshire Schools Combined Events Championships, finishing 2nd thereby qualifying again for English Schools Combined Events Regional Championships. She also competed for the first time the South of England Combined Events Championships, gaining new PBs in the hurdles and shot put, helping her finish 5th overall and the England Athletics Combined Events National Championships, (Hexathlon), gaining new PBs in the hurdles and 800m, helping her finish 7th overall. She also won silver medals in the hurdles at the Berkshire County Championships and the Berkshire County Schools Championships and competed for the first time at the England Athletics under 15 National Championships. She also competed for the club through the season across various events, producing five 3rd /2nd places and three wins.

For the end of the season in September, Freya has qualified to compete for Berkshire in the English Schools Combined Events National Championships.
